Visa Is There
Visa sponsors the world’s most beloved and celebrated sporting events, such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games and the FIFA World Cup™ among others. Our strategic sponsorships allow us to reach global and local audiences and initiate programs that benefit our business. They also enable our clients to celebrate these events and participate in business-building marketing programs. Such sponsorships drive incremental business for our stakeholders, build affinity for Visa and its products in a global audience, facilitate the development and advancement of the payment infrastructure in Olympic Games host cities and help lift economies in emerging markets where we do business.
Since 1986, Visa has been a proud Worldwide Sponsor of the Olympic Games and will be the exclusive payment services sponsor and the only card accepted at the Olympic Games through 2020, including the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Visa has also served as the exclusive payment services sponsor for the Paralympic Games since 2002.
Visa is one of just six global FIFA partners, possessing exclusive rights in the financial services product category for all FIFA World Cup™ activities around the world. Debuting as a worldwide FIFA partner in 2007, Visa launched its first campaign at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa. Visa’s FIFA sponsorship includes the rights to the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™.
As a FIFA Partner, Visa receives worldwide exclusive access to the FIFA World Cup™ and more than 40 other FIFA competitions. The FIFA partnership links two global giants — Visa, the world’s leading payment brand, and football, the world’s most passionately followed sport — in a broad relationship that delivers value for our shareholders, financial institution clients, their accountholders and the merchant community.
Since 1995, Visa’s sponsorship of the NFL and a number of NFL teams has provided a wide range of benefits — including access to the Super Bowl, the NFL Pro Bowl and the NFL Draft — to connect with Visa accountholders and drive value for financial institutions, merchant partners and shareholders.
For the 2013-14 NFL season, Visa will enjoy team relationships with the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers. For each team, Visa is the preferred card for ticket sales, concessions and merchandise and has point-of-sale branding online and at all team payment terminals within the stadiums, including concession areas and team shops.
Visa sponsorships are a platform to build business, increase brand awareness and loyalty and showcase our products and services while delivering value to our partners and clients. In addition to global sports properties like the Olympic and Paralympic Games and FIFA World Cup™, Visa has partnered with leading regional sports and entertainment properties including the National Hockey League (NHL), Copa Libertadores, Toronto International Film Festival, Dubai Shopping Festival and many others.
