Eduardo Eraña

President
Visa Inc. Latin America and the Caribbean Region

Mr. Eduardo Eraña was appointed President of Visa Inc. Latin America and the Caribbean Region (LAC) in February 2002. He is responsible for all aspects of Visa’s business in 44 countries and oversees the relationships with regional financial institutions.

His vision and experience have been key in strengthening Visa’s role as the leading payment system in emerging markets across the region. Mr. Eraña’s strategy has been focused on value-added services and business support for financial institutions, which has resulted in their preference for the brand.

Mr. Eraña joined Visa LAC as Executive Vice President of Business Development in 1984. He also served as President of Visa Mexico for five years until 2001.

Mr. Eraña’s professional career in the banking industry spans for more than 40 years. Prior to graduating from the university, he joined one of the largest private banks in Latin America, where he held various prominent positions such as Head of Credit Cards, Corporate Division.

Mr. Eraña was born in Mexico and graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, (UNAM,) with a degree in Certified Public Accounting.
