Rupert Keeley

AP Regional President

Rupert Keeley was appointed President of the Asia Pacific region on May 1, 2000. In his role Keeley has been responsible for leading Visa’s businesses in 36 countries stretching from Japan to New Zealand and the Indian subcontinent. Following Visa’s global restructuring in 2007, Keeley was appointed to Visa Inc.’s Executive Management Committee, the company’s senior management body.

Prior to his current appointment, Keeley served as Executive Vice President, Finance, Administration and Marketing for Visa International, based at Visa’s global headquarters in California.

Before joining Visa International in February 1999, Keeley held a number of senior management positions with Standard Chartered plc based in London, Singapore and the Middle East, including as Group Head of Marketing and Planning for the bank’s global consumer businesses, Chief Executive of Bahrain and Gulf Head of Consumer Banking. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he worked for Girobank plc in London.

Living in Singapore for the second time in his career, Keeley was appointed to the board of The Esplanade Co., Ltd. in Singapore on November 24, 2007 having previously served on the board of the Infocom Development Authority of Singapore for six years.

Married with a son and daughter, Keeley holds an MBA from the City University Business School in London and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Management Sciences from the University of Manchester (UMIST), England.
