The Road from Down Under Leads to Global Solutions
Since joining Visa more than five years ago, Richard has been involved in a wide range of technology projects, from transaction support, money transfer and service management to designing back office applications and running settlement projects. His path to Visa originated in Australia, where he had already been working in risk and transactional banking. A desire to tackle larger projects drew him to the United Kingdom and, eventually, to Visa.
“One of the greatest things about being at Visa is that different opportunities just keep presenting themselves, particularly within the Online environment,” said Richard. “The possibilities are much greater than most people might think. I’ve worked on websites for multiple countries and a number of applications designed to reduce risk, fraud and cardholder disputes.”
Richard is quick to note that diversity permeates all aspects of Visa. Having been involved in the company globalization efforts, he’s been exposed to different perspectives and has seen firsthand how cultural influences impact the way people think and work. “It’s a refreshing and unique way to grow through diversity.”
