As a global public company, Visa’s responsibilities include giving back to the communities in which we live, work and do business. We also support our employees’ desire to donate their time and money to charitable causes.
Together, We Make the World a Better Place
Through the Visa GivingStation* — an innovative online tool — employees can participate in Visa’s Matching Gift Program and the Employee Volunteer Program.
Matching Gift Program
Visa matches financial gifts to eligible charitable organizations on a dollar-for-dollar basis (up to $5,000 per calendar year). Requests for matching donations are managed through the GivingStation.
Employee Volunteer Program
We encourage individual and team volunteering. Interested employees can search for opportunities and track their volunteer hours with the GivingStation. Opportunities, made possible through Visa’s partnership with HandsOn Network, range from environmental programs and the arts, to social services, health and welfare.
Visa Volunteer Award Program
Twice a year, Visa honors one employee from each region based on the number of volunteer hours logged through the GivingStation. Recognition includes a grant of $5,000 to the charitable organization that received the most hours from the employee.
Giving Back to Communities Worldwide
Our Corporate Responsibility efforts focus on fostering economic self-reliance among low-income individuals and communities, primarily through financial literacy and access to finance.
Visa’s partnerships with ACCION International and FINCA International’s Village Banking Campaign have directly benefitted residents of Uganda, Nicaragua, Mexico, Brazil, East Africa and India — particularly women with no other sources of working capital.
Our commitment to corporate responsibility doesn't end with supporting worthy causes. Visa also adheres to responsible business practices wherever we operate. These practices address a range of issues from supplier diversity and respectful environmental practices, to humanitarian response in times of natural disaster.
Support for Local Communities and Neighborhoods
Helping those in our own backyard is as important as giving around the world. Visa makes a difference by supporting local organizations that provide inclusive economic growth opportunities for all. In the Bay Area for example, local charities have included WE Invest, Urban Solutions, Earth Island Institute and Citizen Schools.
