Visa USA and its Employees to Support Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts

Visa USA announced that it will donate $1 million directly to the American Red Cross to support its Hurricane Relief Fund.  The funds will go to helping the victims and families of Hurricane Katrina in the devastated communities of the Gulf Coast. 

"While we cannot fathom the overwhelming destruction that Katrina has left in her wake, we are hopeful our contribution will provide much-needed resources to communities and families in need," said John Coghlan, president and chief executive officer of Visa USA.  "Visa is both proud and humbled to support the American Red Cross as they launch their largest mobilization effort to date."

In addition to the $1 million direct donation to the Red Cross, Visa USA will match contributions from its employees dollar-for-dollar, up to $500 per donation.

"On behalf of the Visa family, we want to extend our thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by this disaster," added Coghlan.
