No single emblem could express all that Los Angeles and the Olympic and Paralympic Games represent, so the LA28 Games organizers invited a collection of voices, from athletes to creators to sponsors, to contribute.
Visa is proud to unveil its custom LA28 Olympic Games emblem, a celebration of both California’s iconic landscapes and Visa's long-standing partnership with the Olympic Games. We are also looking forward to sharing our custom LA28 Paralympic Games emblem following the Paralympics Closing Ceremony in a few weeks. Let’s explore the inspiration behind this symbol.
Celebrating California and 40 years of partnership
Painted in Visa’s brand colors, blue and yellow, our custom “A” symbolizes Visa’s California roots, our commitment to the LA28 Games and the Los Angeles community, and Visa’s 40-year partnership with the Olympic Games.
The emblem celebrates the familiar winding Pacific Coast Highway, giving artistic expression to the uniqueness of Los Angeles through sports culture and idyllic California scenery. It is a nod to the vast California horizon, an enduring symbol that captures the ideas of endless opportunity, progress, and momentum that are synonymous with the city of Los Angeles in the hearts and minds of people around the world.
A visual identity celebrating the spirit of Los Angeles
In celebration of the handoff from the Olympic Games Paris 2024 to the LA28 Games, we are proud to have the opportunity to shape two variations on this theme, revealing our custom LA28 Olympic Games emblem following the Olympic Games Closing Ceremony, and our custom LA28 Paralympic Games emblem following the Paralympic Games Closing Ceremony.
The growing collection of custom A emblems promises to be an opportunity for creative expressions of the spirit of Los Angeles, inspired by artists and athletes, celebrities and partners, each with their own contribution to giving the LA28 Games a vibrant visual identity. We look forward to seeing what will come next.
